The Red Sox story

Cardiff Red Sox were formed in 2007 by Mark and Caitlin Davies.

Back then, they were known as the Sophia Gardens Red Sox, and had a great opening season, coming second in Division 2 of the Cardiff Softball League.

After coming close to winning the Division 1 crown - coming equal second in 2009 and third in 2010 - they had their first trophy winning season in 2011 when they won both the league title and Llandaff Cup.

This was backed up with league wins in 2012 and 2013.

In 2013, they won the Silver Grade National Championship, stepping up from Bronze grade to further their development as a sporting team.

Since 2009, the team has been captained by Holly Ireland, and pride themselves on playing great ball with a great team-spirit.

Practice is on Saturdays and Mondays, with game-day on Wednesdays throughout the summer months.
