1. What are the requirements for teaching in China?
Native English-speaker ( minimum);
Bachelor’s degree of any subject (minimum);
No criminal record(minimum);
In good health condition that is appropriate to live abroad (minimum);
120-hour TEFL or TESOL Certificate (preferred);
Teaching experience or working with young children experience(preferred);
Outgoing and passionate for helping young students to learn(preferred);
Capable of quickly adapting to different cultural and social environment (preferred).
2. What kind of opportunities do I have?
There 3 kinds of placement you may look for. Please go for opportunities page for job vacancies.
a) Direct placements are for people who satisfy our minimum requirement and with good years of teaching experience, these placements are usually
for 1 year and above period contract.
b) Internship placement are for people who satisfy our minimum requirement and looking for build up their teaching experience, these placements are between 3-6 months.
c) Volunteer placement are for people who would like to try out teaching English in China. There opportunities are from 2 weeks to 3 months.
3. What is TEFL/TESOL certificate?
TEFL stands for Teaching English as Foreign Language, TESOL stands for Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages. Both TEFL and TESOL qualifications are globally recognized form of teaching certification, which enables people to teach English confidently to students of other countries. Countries all across the globe are always on the lookout for English-speaking teachers, and those with TEFL/TESOL teaching qualifications are always in high demand for paid teaching positions.
4. How long does it take to complete a TEFL/TESOL course? Do I have to achieve the certificate before I can apply for a teaching placement?
Most Chinese schools would like their teachers to have completed TEFL/TESOL courses. There are also a few school who would sponsor you while you are
teaching. Usually in this case these schools would expect you to commit to teaching for at least 1 year.
5. Will I be offered training before I go to the post?
Yes. We will provide pre-departure training to successful candidates which covers basic Chinese language, Chinese Classroom Management skills, and
personalized Chines Culture familiarizations. All training are free to candidates.
6. What can I expect if I am successful with my application?
Benefits of each job/placement vary from school to school. You will usually be able to find out the details from job description. However for internship and direct placements you will usually get free accommodation, salary and free medical insurance. You may also be able to get your flight ticket reimbursed partly or fully.
7. Are there other ‘foreign’ teachers in Chinese schools?
Maybe, especially in big cities like Nanjing, Shanghai, or Zhengzhou. There are people from all over the world who go to China to experience the culture through teaching. However it is not surprising if there is only one Foreign teacher at the school where you may work.
8. Can I support myself with my salary?
Generally speaking, the salary offered for doing the job is very generous, which is about 3 times the local teacher’s salary apart from free accommodation. An example of the monthly income and living costs of a typical full-time TEFL English teacher at Jiangsu or Henan with weekly teaching hours of 18hrs:
9. What will my accommodation look like?
A private or shared furnished 1-bedroom apartment (including refrigerator, stove/ kitchen, washing machine, toilet/ bathroom, table/chairs, bed/mattress, color TV, and air-conditioner) costs up to RMB 2,000 as a monthly rent on average which vary from city to city. Following picture gives you an idea of the accommodation. Bedding, linen and utensils will be provided at time of residence.
10. How shall I apply?

If both the school and candidates are happy, we will process the contract and visa application, at the same time we will expect you to go through the training.
