USING ROLLOVER AS LINKS
Once again we’ve scoured our databases in search of users doing great things with our rollover app! This week again there’s not so much of a theme but we have found some nice uses and a couple that link up well with our most recent tutorial; applying links.
Kicking off this showcase is the site It’s a Joe Thing for author Joe Auditore. They’ve used the app not for images but text instead, rolling over a piece of text reveals hidden and extended messages. It’s a really neat use that we here have only recently found out about but are enjoying immensely. Our users are really surprising us with what they come up with!
Following on form that is the portfolio of Illustrator Matthew T. Shaw who’s used the classic and very popular crossfade effect. It looks like a tried and tested method for a portfolio page, we’ve seen a lot of users doing it, it’s simply done but it does add some life to a gallery. However we also like Matthews’s use of link to redirect visitors to more in depth articles on each piece. Very nicely done!
Closing out the video is Entertain Me a worldwide production company for biographical documentaries. They’ve opted to use the classic zoom effect for their rollovers but the reason we’ve focused on them is because of their linking settings. On the end state of the rollover they’ve included a button to link visitors to a corresponding video. If you’d like to know how to do this why not check out our latest tutorial all about it!
