USING ROLLOVER IN DIFFERENT WAYS
Our search for interesting uses of our rollover app continues! Unfortunately this week we were again unable to piece together much of a theme, but as you know that won’t stop us from showcasing what our users have been using rollover for.
We start this showcase with the the site Ruby Blue Weddings. Their use of the app is rather simple using the very popular crossfade and opaque to transparent from the classic packs which we’ve seen a lot of user do. However we enjoyed more of the detailing arounf it like attaching the rollover to columns and the animation that first plays from the start sweeping across them. It all comes together very effectively.

Next up is another portfolio page and its for a writer and director based in Brooklyn, Shannon Strong. Shanon has used the rollover application to to rather interesting ways. Firstly for the images along the top of the page clicking them activates the effect changing the image very subtly before linking you to that page. What we like most was the photography page that when you rollover the category an arrow is displayed along side it to highlighting said category. Very cool and another use for the app he hadn’t previously envisioned. Nice going!
Lastly in this weeks video is Civil Creative Coalition who’ve also used the app in a couple of different ways. Firstly they’ve used it as links to different areas of their shop using a png image over a filter and secondly to add colour to some black and white cartoon outlines which help add some more life to them.
